West Bromwich Albion tried its best to avoid relegation but they were unsuccessful as they missed several chances of making a goal against Newcastle United in the English Premier League and then ended in a draw with no goals for both the teams. After the match, New Castle was 4 points above the drop zone and stood at 16th position, while West Brom stayed in 18th position and 8 points from the safety area.

In the initial 15 minutes, New Castle was a leg up than the West Brom as they put on various fast breaks. In the 30th minute, the midfielder of Newcastle United Jonjo Shelvey came close for the visitors when West Brom’s goalkeeper Sam Johnstone kept his deflected shot out from inside the penalty area. Sam Allardyce, West Brom’s boss, praised his team and asked them to keep playing hard.
