EURO 2020: Sweden takes down Slovakia 1-0 to top Group E

Sweden and Slovakia were heading towards a draw in the first half of the match at Russia's Saint Petersburg Stadium but Sweden then changed the momentum in the second half to score a winner and take a lead in the 77th minute. Sweden was awarded a penalty after Slovakian goalkeeper Martin Dubravka fouled Sweden's Robin Quaison and Emil Forsberg converted the penalty that broke the deadlock in the second half.

Sweden had wasted many opportunities to score, but Dubravka was on top of his game-saving the 59th-minute header by Ludwig Augustinsson and the 71st minute  Alexander Isak's low strike. With Sweden leading Slovakia worked hard to level the score but failed to do so. Sweden's Isak was the man of the match and with the win Sweden tops the Group E table with four points in two matches and Slovakia follows them in the second spot with 3 points.
