Everton for the majority of the match was one goal down against Arsenal. The Gunners enjoyed a lead with a first-half extra-time goal by Martin Odegaard but Everton was determined to win the match came from behind in the second half with goals by Richarlison with 10 minutes to go and Demarai Gray who scored in the stoppage time to secure Toffees first win in nine Premier League matches with 2-1 triumph on Monday.
Gray’s last-minute strike came from 20 yards out as they got their hands on the three points that move Everton up into the 12th place on the table. The match also saw Ben Godfrey avoid being sent off when the 23-year-old appeared to have stamped on the face of Takehiro Tomiyasu when the right-back was prone on the pitch after an Allan challenge but VAR dismissed the incident.
