FIFA increases club premiums for players in the next World Cups

FIFA will increase the amount paid to clubs for the presence of players in the next two football world cups, announced the body, which signed a new memorandum of understanding with the European Club Association (ECA).

"The Club Compensation Program, which compensates all clubs that supply players for the men's World Cups, will increase from US$209 million [about 194 million euros] in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups to US$355 million [about 330 ME] for the 2026 and 2030 tournaments", said the organization in a statement.

This measure was announced at the time of signing the new memorandum of understanding between FIFA and ECA, which includes the Portuguese Benfica, FC Porto, Marítimo, Sporting and Sporting de Braga.
