Former Man Utd man Van de Beek hopes to get back to his best at Girona

Donny Van de Beek is one of the new signings of Girona's Champions League project. The Dutch midfielder, after a period in which he has not been at his best, is hoping to get back to his best with Girona.

After two seasons without more than 10 appearances due to injury woes, Van de Beek is looking for a return to the level he showed at Ajax, who reached the semi-finals of the 2018-19 UCL.

Under the orders of Michel Sanchez and with the challenge of being a key player for the team in their Champions League debut, he aims to "leave the past behind him with a very powerful project".

"It's a big challenge for me and I want to focus on succeeding here and helping the team," said the 27-year-old Dutchman during his presentation, after Girona shelled out half a million euros plus variables to bring him in.
