Gianluigi Buffon inks a two-year deal with Parma

Juventus Legend Gianluigi Buffon returns to Parma’s squad by signing a two-year contract with the Serie A club. Barcelona also wanted to recruit the player but he would have served as a backup for the team. Buffon ended his contract with Juventus in May marking an end to his time in Turin. For the two campaigns though he served as Wojciech Szczesny’s reserve.

Now the 43-year-old would join his old teammate Enzo Maresca in Emilia, he would be coaching the team this term and Former Juventus scout Javier Ribalta is the new head of the Parma management. Parma after the relegation this season plans to return to Serie A. Bianconeri acquired the player in 2001 and in his 19 seasons with the club he set many records and won ten Scudetti.
