Borja Iglesias took the late penalty as an opportunity to lead Real Betis to a 1-0 win over Getafe in the Spanish league this Friday. After being fouled two times in the box by Getafe defender Sofian Chalka, the Betis striker picked up in the 64th minute and made a huge impact by winning two penalties.
Having blocked Sergio Canales’ effort in the 76th, Getafe goalkeeper David Soria could manage to save the first penalty. The rebound was also wasted by Canales who sent it over the crossbar. The second earned trip to the spot was utilized by Iglesias to fire the penalty past Soria for the 84th-minute winner in Seville. Betis had lost Nabil Fekir, who was substituted by Cristian Tello to an injury. The win put Betis into the sixth position.
