Inter defeated Cagliari 2-0

On Monday, Inter defeated Claudio Ranieri's Cagliari 2-0 to become one of just four Serie A teams to win its first two games, joining Napoli, AC Milan, and Hellas Verona. Off-season acquisition Marcus Thuram assisted on both goals. The France attacker, who is also the son of legendary Parma and Juventus defender Lilian Thuram, played a key role in the buildup to goals by Lautaro Martinez and Denzel Dumfries, both of which came in the 21st and 30th minutes.

Thuram and Federico Dimarco set up Martinez on the left flank, where he calmly controlled the ball before slamming it into the post in front of three defenders. Thuram left German Bundesliga club Borussia Moenchengladbach, where he spent the previous four seasons, and joined Inter on a free transfer last month. Meanwhile, Lukaku seems destined to sign a loan deal with Italian rivals Roma.
