Ahead of the next European Championship, Italy unveiled their first 30-man roster for EURO 2024 on Thursday. Manager Luciano Spalletti did not call Ciro Immobile, Manuel Locatelli, or Marco Verratti up to the national squad.
Under Spalletti's direction, Italy's European Championship campaign begins on June 15 against Albania. In Group B, they will play Croatia and Spain. After defeating England 3–2 on penalties, the Italian national team captured the EURO 2020 trophy for the second time. The whole roster consists of: Goalkeepers: Guglielmo Vicario (Tottenham), Ivan Provedel (Lazio), Alex Meret (Napoli), and Gianluigi Donnarumma (Paris Saint-Germain). Midfielders: Nicolo Barella (Inter Milan), Bryan Cristante (Roma), Nicolo Fagioli (Juventus), Michael Folorunsho (Verona), Davide Frattesi (Inter Milan), Jorginho (Arsenal), Lorenzo Pellegrini (Roma), Samuele Ricci (Torino). Forwards: Federico Chiesa (Juventus), Stephan El Shaarawy (Roma), Riccardo Orsolini (Bologna), Giacomo Raspadori (Napoli), Mateo Retegui (Genoa), Gianluca Scamacca (Atalanta), Mattia Zaccagni (Lazio)
