Joshua Zirkzee has completed his move from Bologna to Manchester United

Though it is slightly beyond his £34.4m (€40m) release clause, the sum is reported to be £36.5m (€42.5m), but it is in return for better terms for payment. Thus, United will cover the cost of the Netherlands international over a three-year period. Zirkzee has agreed to a five-year deal at Old Trafford, with an additional year's option.

The 23-year-old helped Bologna qualify for the Champions League last season with 12 goals and seven assists. Zirkzee said: "Having had discussions with the manager and the leaders of the club I know how exciting the future is going to be here and I cannot wait to play my part in achieving success for Manchester United. "I am a player who has always dedicated everything to winning; I'm ready for this next challenge, to go to another level in my career and win more trophies.
