Junker returns to Randers after prolific five‑year run in Asia

Kasper Junker is back in the Danish Superliga, signing a two‑year contract with Randers after five highly successful years in Asia. The club confirmed the move on Monday, welcoming home a striker who first represented Randers between 2012 and 2016 before embarking on a career that took him through Norway, Japan and Thailand. Football director Soren Pedersen praised Junker’s quality, experience and winning mentality, confident he can make an immediate impact in the 3F Superliga.

Junker arrives just six months after joining Buriram United, where he had been under contract until 2027. His Asian spell included standout success with Urawa Red Diamonds, following a move from Bodo/Glimt in 2020. Across Japan and Thailand, he collected eight major titles and became one of the most prolific foreign scorers in both leagues. Now 32, Junker returns to familiar surroundings with the ambition to prove himself once again in Danish football.
