Kylian Mbappe amid fears of early Euro 2024 exit

Despite fracturing his nose during France's opening Euro 2024 match, Kylian Mbappe managed to find humor in the situation.

Following his visit to the major hospital in Dusseldorf, the captain of France inquired, "Any ideas for masks?" In Les Bleus' first game in Germany, Mbappe scored the game's only goal, 1-0, versus Austria. However, he exited the field covered in blood after colliding with Austrian defender Kevin Danso's shoulder. Fears that the soon-to-be Real Madrid superstar's tournament may be finished were allayed by medical testing. Rather, Mbappe expects to resume playing as soon as possible after the bone was reset. Not too long after, the French Football Federation released a statement stating that Kylian Mbappe has returned to the French national team's base camp.  During the second leg of Monday's Austria-France match in Düsseldorf, Mbappe smashed his nose.
