Barcelona's 1-0 win at Mallorca on Saturday was reinforced by Robert Lewandowski's third goal of the campaign. Although Mallorca tried to keep Barcelona off the board on Saturday by lining up a quartet of midfielders in front of five defenders close to its area in an effort to stall the Polish newcomer, his moment of inspiration turned the strategy on its head. In the 20th minute, Ansu Fati played Lewandowski the ball on the left side of the field, but he cut back to his right foot and shot a precise shot into the net.
After scoring in six straight rounds following a blank in the league, Lewandowski now has nine goals and 12 overall, including the Champions League. He became the first player to score six in a row in LaLiga since Ruud van Nistelrooy with Real Madrid in the 2006-07 season. Barcelona now tops the chart.
