La Liga: Celta grabs a late winner against Granada

Denis Suarez found a late winner in stoppage time to hand Celta Vigo a win with 1-0 against Granada in the Spanish League on Monday. Suarez entered as a substitute and headed towards the winner working off an assist by Santi Mina to push past Granada’s goalkeeper to hand Celta their second back-to-back win. Granada was not going easy either as they searched for their own winner after they created a lot of opportunities but could not put it past Celta goalkeeper Matias Dituro.

The hosts had also missed many chances to go ahead as well Iago Aspas’ 73rd-minute penalty was saved by Luis Maximiano, and Aspas is well known as the penalty specialist after having converted nine penalty kicks in league matches. With the win, Celta is now 13th on the table showcasing seven points while Granada’s search for a win continues.
