La Liga: Espanyol drew 1-1 with Athletic Bilbao

Espanyol and Athletic Bilbao tied 1-1 at the RCDE Stadium. In the 33rd minute, Raul de Tomas scored from the penalty spot to put the hosts ahead, only for Inaki Williams to equalize in the 52nd minute. In the 93rd minute, De Tomas was sent off. The result puts Espanyol in tenth place in La Liga, one point ahead of Valencia and one point behind Barcelona. 

Espanyol-Athletic was an emotional roller coaster that finished in a more-than-fair stalemate. In Cornellà, the Blue and Whites lose their good winning streak, but they go another day without losing. Ral de Tomás' fifth goal, which came after he was sent off in the add-on for a foolish action on Yeray, was unable to put the Basques down.
