LaLiga: Villarreal sacked Luis Garcia and reappointed Javi Calleja

There is yet more turbulence at Villarreal this season with the club having sacked Luis Garcia Plaza and reappointed Javi Calleja on Tuesday.

Despite being dismissed in December, Calleja will return after Garcia lasted just 50 days in charge, failing to win in any of his six LaLiga games as Villarreal drew four and lost two.

Villarreal have not won a single LaLiga fixture since 25 November and they are facing the serious threat of relegation from the Spanish top flight. Garcia was unable to turn around the fortunes of a club that is going through a crisis, which can really be traced back to Ruben Semedo's sensational arrest for kidnap back in February of 2018.
