Reds winning streak was wasted with Leeds’ late goal in the Premier League match-up. Jurgen Klopp and his players were hoping to enter the top four once more this year after falling off the top this season but Leeds was heading in with a heavy win over Man City, enough to frighten the Reds. Liverpool was without Nat Phillips hence forcing Fabinho back in defense and Thiago in a midfield role.
Even with Superleague curses being thrown at them Reds remained dominant in the first half and protected their 1-0 lead, Sadio Mane finally ended the 10 match goal drought. Reds though lost ground in the second half, Patrick Bamford first fired a warning shot that hit the crossbar, and later Llorente leveled the score with 3 minutes remaining and Reds crushed their dreams and stayed in sixth place.
