Leeds United compete with Everton to ink a deal with Marcelo

Real Madrid defender Marcelo is available for a cut-price deal and Leeds United is targeting the player this summer. Leeds is expecting competition from Premier League rivals Everton, who are interested in inking a deal with the player as well. To have another successful season in the top flight tournament Leeds is shopping for defenders this transfer season to bolster their defensive options.

The Brazil international has 12 more months left in his contract with Real Madrid and is hoping for a move to England or Italy. In his 15 seasons with the club, the 33-year-old scored 38 goals in 528 games across competitions for Los Blancos and has won five La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies and four Champions League crowns with the Spanish club. He has also won four Spanish Super Cups, three Uefa Super Cups, and four Fifa World Club Cups in his career.
