Leipzig dominated over Mainz in the opening round of Bundesliga

Leipzig showed they would be hard to put down by beating Mainz by 3-1 in their first match of Bundesliga. The Bulls put in a gallant display right from the start of the game, Mainz goalkeeper Robin Zentner was put to task with just 4 minutes in the game as Dani Olmo started attacking right away, Goals from Emil Forsberg, Yussuf Poulsen, and Amadou Haidara drove victory home as Nullfunfer scored just once with the help of Robin Quaison. Leipzig however was not deterred by it and pressed on with its attacking and would have won with a higher margin but the Mainz goalkeeper dug deep and defended against continuous attack from Angelino and substitute Christopher Nkunku at the end.
