Levante beats Elche 3-0 for a rare win in La Liga

The bottom-ranked Levante put on a rare performance to secure the third win of their Spanish league campaign. Hosts relied on Jose Luis Morales, Jorge de Frutos and Gonzalo Melero to best Elche defenders and help them move within six points of safety as they plan to punch their ticket out of the red zone with the coming matches.

Levante's first win was against Mallorca in January and recently in a surprising feat they bested defending champions Atletico Madrid this month. Levante has turned their game around recently they even drew 1-1 with Celta Vigo in their last match, against Elche they took advantage of Gerard Gumbau’s red card that reduced the team to 10 men army in the 73rd minute and the 13th placed team could not match Levante’s red hot form.
