Ligue 1: Kylian Mbappe To PSG's Rescue

Paris Saint-Germain beat Nice 2-1 on Saturday to reclaim the top spot in Ligue French international. Christophe Galtier decided to bench Kylian Mbappe on Saturday, one eye on Wednesday's Champions League meeting at Benfica. The 11 fixtures the French champions have in the six weeks leading up to the World Cup are one of them. Hugo Ekitike, a 20-year-old defender who made his debut for PSG, replaced Mbappe, who was benched for Wednesday's Champions League game at Benfica.

Neymar and Lionel Messi both made an early impact for PSG as the Brazilian's 29th-minute strike sailed over the Nice wall and past goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel. Laborde leveled in the 47th minute after PSG got into a terrible defensive tangle, and Mbappe scored with seven minutes left to beat Nice. Mbappe's arrival proved to be in favor of PSG.
