Ligue 1: Lens Beat 10-Man Reims 2-0

Lens continued its unbeaten start in the French Ligue 1 with a 2-0 win over 10-man Reims. Arnaud Kalimuendo scored twice. After a penalty conceded by Reims midfielder Hugo Ekitike, the 19-year-old Kalimuendo, who is on loan at Lens for the second time from Paris Saint-Germain, broke the stalemate in first-half injury time. With two goals in Reims' 3-1 win over Nantes last weekend, Ekitike was named player of the match, but he caught Lens' Kevin Danso in the face with the sole of his boot, earning him a red card after a VAR review.

Kalimuendo scored his second goal for Lens since his comeback in the 52nd minute, after Florian Sotoca set him up superbly. The lens remained in second place after losing only one of its nine games thus far. Reims fell to 12th place after suffering its third defeat, despite having played one more game than its midtable rivals.
