Lille drew up with Saint-Etienne 1-1

Tough competition lies at Ligue 1 table where the top five teams are separated by measly two points. Lille drew up against Saint-Etienne and missed a golden opportunity to go level on points with PSG at the top while the rest of the clubs were successful in their race to be the first. The defending champions sit second on the table just two points behind benefiting from the PSG’s recent draw with Bordeaux.

While Lyon, Monaco, and Montpellier sit below just on the basis of goal difference sporting the same points. Elsewhere Lyon was successful in their feat with a 3-0 win over Reims and Monaco defeated Nimes by 3-0 to instill more competition Montpellier won against Lorient as well. The first-half successful penalty conversion from Tunisian Wahbi Khazri put his team ahead but Christophe Galtier’s team did not fall behind and a strike from Jonathan Ikone rescued a draw.
