Lille dropped two points with a draw against Montpellier

As Ligue 1 title race intensifies, Lille dropped two precious points as Montpellier held them back with a 1-1 draw and they now hold their four-point lead over second-placed PSG close to heart. PSG even enjoys a one-game lead over Lille and it was the worst possible time for the team to not take advantage in the Ligue 1 matchup.

Andy Delort first opened the score for Montpellier in the 21st minute and Lille fought back with Luiz Araujo's late goal that salvaged a draw for the leaders who are now 70 points with 33 games while Paris St Germain would host St Etienne on Sunday. Lille did not lack on the efforts part as they tested Jonas Omlin early on with Burak Yilmaz and Jonathan Ikone taking their chances at the goal post only to return disappointed even Jonathan David saw his shot being saved late until Araujo leveled with five minutes left.
