Liverpool is desperate to sign Ismael Bennacer for $43.7 million

Ismael Bennacer, an Algerian international and star for AC Milan, was extensively connected to Liverpool during the summer transfer window, but in the end, he decided to stay with the San Siro team. According to recent media sources, the Reds are willing to make a sizable offer to entice the acquisition of the African midfielder. 

An authoritative Italian publication, Corriere dello Sport, said last month that Milan, who are desperate to extend Bennacer's contract before it expires in 2024, are panicked by the Merseysiders' interest in the striker. La Gazzetta Dello Sport also said that the Liverpool club is holding off on hiring the 24-year-old player until the proper moment because of his 50 million euro (£43.7 million) release clause. Claudio Raimondi of Sport MediaSet reports recently that the Rossoneri and Bennacer are in negotiations to come to an agreement on a new contract.
