Liverpool's 3-1 victory over Fulham

Thanks to goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ryan Gravenberch, and Diogo Jota, Liverpool defeated Fulham 3-1 at Craven Cottage on Sunday to draw even with Arsenal atop the Premier League standings. With five games left, Liverpool and Arsenal are tied on goal differential (74 points each), but Manchester City, the current leaders (73 points), have a game in hand.

Following a 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace one week prior, which severely damaged Liverpool's championship aspirations, Sunday's triumph gave manager Jurgen Klopp's team newfound optimism. In the 32nd minute, Alexander-Arnold made his first league start since February 10 and curled a beautiful free kick into the top corner, putting keeper Bernd Leno with little chance of stopping it. It was the sixth direct free-kick goal for the England international. But shortly before halftime, Timothy Castagne equalized Fulham's score with a side-footed effort that went past goalkeeper Alisson.
