In the second half, goals from Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo separated only two minutes to let the floodgates open as an injured Liverpool's 4-1 comeback victory over Luton Town at Anfield on Wednesday created some breathing room at the top of the Premier League. After 26 games, Juergen Klopp's club has 60 points, four more than Manchester City and five more than Arsenal—despite the fact that both of the latter two still have a game in hand. Luton Town was still in 18th place.

Chiedozie Ogbene of Luton stunned the Anfield supporters with a goal in the 12th minute, and Liverpool fell behind at halftime in a home league game for the first time this season despite the absence of several important players, such as Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah.
