At Kenilworth Road, Aston Villa defeated Luton 3-2 thanks to a header by Lucas Digne in the 89th minute, further fueling their campaign for a top-four Premier League finish. It looked as though Unai Emery's squad had given away two points with two goals conceded in the second half. But Digne later gave some hope to the side by putting the ball past Thomas Kaminski and into the net. Villa appeared to be in control at the half, but the hosts rallied valiantly and leveled the score with goals from Tahith Chong and Carlton Morris.
At the very least, it appeared as though they had done enough for a point, but Digne's spectacular late-game intervention broke Luton hearts and kept Villa in the lead in the Champions League. Rob Edwards' team suffered their fourth straight loss, and Villa now enjoys a five-point advantage over Tottenham in the Champions League standings.
