Luka Modric's World Cup dream is over

The greatest player in the Croatian history, Luka Modric, was overshadowed by Argentina's Lionel Messi on Tuesday in Qatar, who is regarded as the best player of all time. The 37-year-old Modric led his nation to its second consecutive World Cup semifinal, but the South American team easily defeated his team 3-0.

Argentina has a great team, and today they tried to play much of the game thereby attempting to compress the space and using four midfielders, according to Dalic. Croatia had trailed in their victory against Canada in the group stage and needed penalties to defeat Japan and Brazil in the knockout stages after both teams had given up the first goal. The midfielder for Real Madrid, Modric, who made his international debut back in 2006, is undoubtedly nearing the end of a remarkable career. In the third-place playoff on Saturday, Croatia will take on either France or Morocco.
