Karim Benzema has long been on Lyon's agenda. However, the Frenchman has made it clear that he wants to retire at Real Madrid.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas does not give up and talked about the 35-year-old and his future: "I dream about Benzema’s return but it's complicated. We'll try to sign him. I was watching the game against Barca yesterday, losing 2-1.
"If we had the possibility and a small chance to bring him back, we would do it by taking all the risks. He’s a symbol," he added.
The striker's contract expires in June 2023 and he has not yet reached an agreement to renew it. Nevertheless, it is very likely that Benzema will renew his contract with the Spanish side to retire playing at the Santiago Bernabeu.
