Man City launch €120m raid for Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez

Manchester City have made a substantial opening offer of €120 million for Enzo Fernández, attempting to gauge Chelsea’s willingness to negotiate for the Argentine midfielder. According to journalist César Luis Merlo, City manager Enzo Maresca is driving the pursuit, urging the club’s hierarchy to commit to a major investment in a player he previously worked with and greatly admires.

Chelsea, however, have set a firm valuation of €140 million, leaving City’s initial proposal well short of expectations. The London club had also imposed a strict deadline for talks.

Fernández remains a key figure at Stamford Bridge, but City’s interest reflects Maresca’s desire to strengthen his midfield with a familiar and trusted profile. The next move now depends on Chelsea, who must decide whether to engage further or stand firm. The bid marks the latest chapter in a transfer saga that could escalate quickly as the deadline approaches.
