Man City may undertake a double transfer swoop to get a leg up for CL

Pep Guardiola's team earned the Triple Crown, but perhaps more importantly, City won its first Champions League trophy in club history during an incredible 2022–2023 season. Last summer, City brought in players like Mateo Kovacic, Matheus Nunes, Josko Gvardiol, and Jeremy Doku while losing players like Cole Palmer, Riyad Mahrez, and Ilkay Gundogan. However, the team did not make a significant change to Guardiola's roster. The only significant transaction at the Etihad Stadium in January was Kalvin Phillips' loan transfer to West Ham. Despite this, the Premier League winners are apparently preparing for two massive summer acquisitions.

City may try to recruit Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich. Kimmich's contract expires at the end of the current campaign, and Guardiola finds him very enticing since he can play both right back and holding midfield. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder Musiala, whose Bavaria contract is set to expire in 2026, is another player City is considering signing.
