Joshua Zirkzee joined Manchester United this summer transfer window from Serie A side Bologna, having previously played for Bayer Munich and Feyenoord.
The 23-year-old was waiting to pick a shirt number for the 2024/25 Premier League season, and on Tuesday the Red Devils confirmed he will wear the number 11 on his back, which was worn last season by Rasmus Hojlund.
The number 11 has been worn at the club by legends such as Ryan Giggs, Bobby Charlton, Sammy Mcllroy and Lee Sharpe.
The former Bayern Munich player will have the opportunity to make his debut in the legendary number 11 for the Old Trafford outfit as Manchester United take on Manchester City in the Community Shield final for their first title of the campaign.
Furthermore, the club has revealed Rasmus Hojlund will wear the Manchester United number 9 on his back.
