Manchester City’s interest in Wirtz develops further

The vultures are once more hovering around the Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid now that Florian Wirtz has rejoined the Germany squad after missing the World Cup due to a knee injury.

According to reports, Wirtz is being closely watched by a number of clubs, including Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Newcastle and other clubs. In addition, according to Fabrizio Romano and Wirtz, Real Madrid is rumored to be sniffing around as well. But, Leverkusen is hoping to keep their best player by offering him a key position as Germany gets ready to host the European Championships the following year. The greatest connections, though, have involved Barcelona, and after linking up with Germany ahead of the forthcoming international break, Wirtz spoke of the Catalan giants' alleged interest as well.
