Marseille climbed to second place in the French Ligue 1

Marseille clinched their fifth win of the season when they defeated 10 men Nimes by 2-0. With goals from Argentinian Dario Benedetto and Valere Germain who joined in as a substitute helped Olympique de Marseille, run in Ligue 1. Nimes was reduced to a 10 men squad in the 77th minute when midfielder Adrian Cubas was handed a second yellow card for the excessive offense.

Valere Germain taking advantage of the 10 men squad scored later in the 84th minute to ensure their win, while Dario Benedetto had already put them ahead in the 57th minute. Marseille climbed to second place on the table with 24 points and end up just one point behind PSG even when they have played one match less than the Ligue 1 Champions. Nimes on the other hand is 16th with 11 points.
