Marseille, Nice share the spoils after Ligue 1 draws

Alexis Sanchez got his Ligue 1 debut for Marseille yet the veteran forward couldn't have a conclusive effect in a 1-1 draw at Brest. The 33-year-old joined from Inter Milan and was a final substitute on Sunday but the player’s attempt were thawed repeatedly.

Left wing back Nuno Tavares scored his second goal in as many games since joining from Premier League club Arsenal when he put the guests ahead in the 38th minute. Brest hit back on the hour when Pierre Lees-Melou released a great volley from 20 meters away into the right corner following a corner. Nice shared the same fate as Marseille against Strasbourg with a 1-1 draw at home. Striker Andy Delort put Nice ahead from the penalty spot in the 35th minute yet veteran Kevin Gameiro leveled for Strasbourg in the 56th to share one point each.
