Mason Greenwood chooses to represent Jamaica

The 23-year-old, who has made quite an impact in France with 16 goals and three assists in his debut season, will not be representing England in the future.

All eyes will be on Thomas Tuchel as he prepares to unveil his first squad as England manager on March 13. Following Gareth Southgate's departure, Tuchel will face the pressure of selecting a team to compete in two key World Cup qualifying matches against Albania and Latvia, both regarded as manageable fixtures ahead of the 2026 World Cup, set to occur in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

Despite Greenwood's impressive form, the forward will be unavailable for selection due to a formal request to switch allegiance. Mark Bullingham, the Chief Executive of the English Football Association, has confirmed that Greenwood has sought to change his national representation, a decision that prevents him from being selected for the Three Lions.
