Matt Ritchie wants to leave the Magpies for Bournemouth

Matt Ritchie had an interesting time with Newcastle this summer. He started the season on the bench but later became a part of the starting XI and it coincided with a resurgence by Newcastle in the Premier League. The 31-year-old wanted to leave St James’ Park in January as well and return to Bournemouth. But Steve Bruce blocked the deal and a few months later Ritchie was back in the squad.

He played against Tottenham as left wing-back on 4th April and played a key role in both the goals that night. but he now wants to return to Bournemouth because of family matters. The Midfielder joined Newcastle in 2016 in a £10million deal with the Cherries. It was counted as one of the most expensive signings by Rafa Benitez in their Championship campaign. He played an important role in the club's promotion as well scoring 12 goals and 8 assists. For the 31-year-old it could be his last chance to return to Bournemouth and if Newcastle agrees it would be a huge blow to the fans.
