Monaco defeat Montpellier 3-2

Captain Wissam Ben Yedder scored twice for Monaco to seal their win in Ligue 1 match with Montpellier, who were held back in a late-night on the field for the win. Kevin Volland and Yedder had put Monaco ahead in the first half and hour but Montpellier threatened with goals by Elye Wahi and Andy Delort to force a draw which was squashed by Yedder who scored his second goal for Monaco for the night to secure the win and settle third on the table three points above Lille.

Caio Henrique and Gelson Martins were rested for the match and in their place, Wing-back Ruben Aguilar and defender Oliveira Silva were added to the lineup. Despite great efforts, Monaco denied Montpellier an equalizer, as the home side is 8th on the table and extends their winless run to six.
