Napoli in for Emerson?

The Italy international has been linked with a return to Serie A and has previously been targeted by Juventus and Inter, but the Partenopei could swoop for the former Roma defender in January.

Il Corriere dello Sport reveals President Aurelio De Laurentiis hopes to bring Emerson to the San Paolo on a six-month loan and has already contacted the Blues director Marina Granovskaia.

Napoli signed Tiemoue Bakayoko on a dry loan, but even if they don’t have an option or an obligation to buy, the two parties reportedly have a gentlemen agreement for a permanent move.

The report claims they are hoping to find a similar agreement for the full-back, who seems open for a return to Italy.
