Bruno Fernandes' foul on James Maddison was set to guarantee him suspension from Manchester United's next three fixtures in the Premier League. The captain was sent off at the at the 42nd minute in the match against Tottenham on Sunday following the foul. However, Man United have since appealed the FA's decision to suspend the Portuguese player.
On Tuesday the club announced that their appeal was successful with an official statement that reads: "Bruno Fernandes will be available for Manchester United’s next three games following a successful claim of wrongful dismissal.The midfielder was sent off for serious foul play during the Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur. Fernandes was set to miss our league fixtures against Aston Villa, Brentford and West Ham but will now be available for selection following the successful appeal."
Fernandes was vocal on his belief that the foul should not have been awarded a red card.
