OFFICIAL: Thomas Tuchel is the new England coach

The 51-year-old German coach was only made official on Wednesday, but he had already signed a contract before. British officials did not want to cause fuss around the team and postponed communicating the decision taken.

Even so, Tuchel will only start his role in January 2025, giving Lee Carsley the opportunity until then to leave this period as England's coach with a flourish.

This ends a period of recruitment that helped to realize that the German was the best choice for the position.

"The FA announces that Champions League winner Thomas Tuchel is the new coach of the England first team and will be joined by internationally renowned English coach Anthony Barry. His arrival at the FA concludes an extensive recruitment process that began in July , shortly after the Three Lions' participation in the Euro 2024 final," it was displayed in an FA statement.
