The night ended in a draw for PSG with Saint-Etienne as they were hoping to reclaim first place by defeating Lyon during the night. Moise Kean scored for Paris Saint-Germain during the first match for Mauricio Pochettino but their side still fell behind by three points against Lyon who sit at the top of Ligue 1. Their second-half run did not saw any goal or a winner as they were held back.
Romain Hamouma had given Saint-Etienne an early lead in the game which was leveled by Kean later. Though the defending champions did supersede Lille because of the goal difference. This match comes four days after Pochettino replaced Thomas Tuchel but could not rally the team against Saint-Etienne as they lost many opportunities to score.
