Pontus Jansson will probably miss the rest of the season due to a hamstring injury. The defender was removed from Saturday's loss to Newcastle early.
Eight games remain for the Bees this season, the first of which is a weekend trip to the ailing Wolves, but when questioned about Jansson's setback, head coach Thomas Frank provided a dismal report. Jansson relocated from Leeds to West London in 2019, and his current contract expires this summer. In 115 appearances for Brentford, the 32-year-old has scored four goals, and Frank is eager to sign the former Torino player to a new contract. Frank shared, they would like to keep him because he has been the captain and leader for years and has performed admirably in that role. Both parties are involved in continuous discussions about it and hopefully would make an announcement about the player’s future soon.
