PSG’s Presnel Kimpembe ‘ready’ for return after nearly two years out

Kimpembe suffered an achilles injury nearly two years ago. Having undergone surgery in the wake of the blow, he then had to undergo another bout of surgery just a few months later with the defender still feeling pain in the affected area. It has been a long way back for the centre-back, who was included in a matchday squad back in November 2024 before then going back off the radar until the end of the year.

Speaking ahead of Les Parisiens’ Coupe de France tie against lower-division side Espaly, Luis Enrique has provided an update on the defender.

“After having spoken with Presnel, to see if he is ready, I think he feels a lot better. Over the past months, he has been able to train with the group but it is important to exchange with the player about how he is feeling. He is ready,” said Luis Enrique.
