Real Madrid 1-1 Osasuna

10-man Osasuna prevented Real Madrid from maintaining their winning start to the defence of their La Liga title at the Bernabeu on Sunday. Karim Benzema missed a late penalty as Real dropped points for the first time this season after being held by Osasuna at the Bernabeu. The Frenchman lashed his spot-kick against the crossbar in the 80th minute as Real failed to continue their winning streak.

Vinicius Junior opened the scoring for Osasuna before Kike Garcia equalised. David Garcia was sent off for a foul on Benzema that led to the penalty. The France striker could not convert as Osasuna claimed a point for the second time in as many seasons at the Bernabeu. Madrid are level on points with rival Barcelona but remain first in La Liga's table on goal difference.
