Real Madrid dropped points against Sevilla

Real Madrid could not move level on points with Atletico Madrid as they had hoped to do before meeting Sevilla in the La Liga match. Both the teams drew up 2-2 in the Spanish League match on Sunday and avoided a defeat. Zinedine Zidane’s side was already low on morale after Chelsea defeated the side in the Champions League Semifinals conceded a goal early in the 22nd minute to Francisco Fernando.

Substitute Marcelo Asensio later rescued the team by leveling at the 67th minute and came back from behind once. Midfielder Ivan Rakitic later stirred more trouble by putting the visitors in front with a 78th-minute penalty kick but an own goal by Diego Carlos handed Madrid a point and moved them second on the table above Barcelona and are two points behind Atletico with just three more matches left in the season.
