According to 'AS', this irritated Madrid yet again but the club opted to reduce the chance of drama and allowed him to go on international duty. 'Los Blancos' eagerly await the summer when his contract expires so that they can offload the Welshman.

In 2019, Bale sent a message to Real Madrid with a notorious flag. He presented it during Wales' celebrations after qualifying for the 2020 Euros and it read: "Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order."
