Reims and Rennes both lost points in the race for a European spot

Seventh-placed Reims, four points behind Nice in fifth and the last qualifying berth, lost 3-1 to Strasbourg, while Rennes remained ninth after a 2-1 loss at home to Toulouse. Both teams now have five games remaining to make up for their losses. Reims took an early lead thanks to Japan striker Keito Nakamura, but Kevin Gameiro equalized with a penalty shortly before halftime. Shortly after the interval, defender Abakar Sylla scored, and Patrick Vieira's team added a third goal in injury time through Moise Sahi.

Desire Doue's angled shot put Rennes ahead after 20 minutes, but Venezuela midfielder Cristian Casseres equalized within two minutes, and Mali defender Moussa Diarra gave Toulouse an advantage they never surrendered 10 minutes later. Brest, in second place, may cut Paris Saint-Germain's advantage to seven points if it wins against Lyon on Sunday.
