Saudi Arabia announced the resignation of coach Herve Renard, who is expected to be confirmed as coach of the France women's national team.
The 54-year-old, who has won the African Cup of Nations twice as manager, will replace Corinne Diacre as Les Bleues coach ahead of the Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand later this year.
Diacre left his role amid an exodus of players over his management style and treatment of the emblem.
Renard took over in 2019 and led Saudi Arabia to its second consecutive World Cup final, becoming the most successful foreign coach in the country's history.
He led Saudi Arabia to a surprise 2-1 win over eventual champions Argentina in Qatar, but defeats to Poland and Mexico meant they failed to reach the last 16.
